Faith in Action: Celebrating Volunteerism with Everence and Rock River Bible Camp
We’re excited—and deeply grateful—to share that Rock River Bible Camp was recently featured in an article by Everence titled “Practical Hope Beyond the Workplace.” The story highlights how Everence staff live out faith and stewardship through hands-on service beyond their everyday work, and we’re honored that Rock River Bible Camp was part of that story.
What stood out most to us wasn’t just the feature itself, but what it represents: a shared commitment to showing up, serving others, and putting faith into action in real, tangible ways.
Faith That’s Lived, Not Just Learned
At Rock River Bible Camp, we believe faith isn’t just taught—it’s experienced. It shows up in chapel worship, in meals shared in the dining hall, in conversations between counselors and campers, and especially in the countless hours given by volunteers who make camp possible.
Volunteers are the heartbeat of our camp. From summer counselors and kitchen helpers to maintenance crews and behind-the-scenes supporters, each person plays a role in creating a space where campers feel known, supported, and encouraged in their faith.
A Story of Stewardship and Hope
One moment from the Everence article captured this spirit beautifully:
“Now [Annette Ridenour] looks forward to creating a place that’s as loving and supportive as the one she encountered as a kid. ‘They’re seeking out that kind of support and mentorship and friendship, and so I think that’s really special,’ she said.”

This story isn’t about one person or one organization—it’s about what happens when people choose to invest their time, gifts, and care into something bigger than themselves.
Why This Matters to Us
Being featured by Everence feels like an affirmation that the quiet, faithful work of serving matters. It reminds us that when organizations, volunteers, and communities come together with shared values, something meaningful takes root.
At Rock River Bible Camp, we’re thankful for the opportunity to:
Create space for authentic faith in a joyful, relational environment
Practice stewardship of time, talent, and resources as a way of life
Invite people of all ages to be part of a faith community that extends beyond the summer
This recognition belongs to our staff, volunteers, donors, partner organizations, and families. We’re incredibly grateful for each of you who help make camp a place of belonging and growth.
